Tim Rodenkirk will lead a birding trip for Cape Arago Audubon Society (CAAS) and our sister Chapter (KAS) in Curry County that will go up into the Charleston area. Tim says seasonal conditions and low tide make it some of the best birding in our region, with opportunities to see a variety of gulls, ducks, and more. Tim will decide whether we go out on Saturday or Sunday based on the weather forecast as the date gets closer. Meet in Charleston Boat Basin on Saturday at 7:45AM or Sunday at 8:15AM at the parking lot in the harbor area next to the Betty Kay fishing place. There are ample parking and a restroom there. The group will bird there and near OIMB and then carpool for the short drive over to Fossil Point (where parking is limited). Bring full rain gear, a spotting scope if you have one (an umbrella for each spotting scope), Birding with Tim is a great opportunity to learn and to be inspired by his enthusiasm. If you are interested to attend, please RSVP directly to Tim at timrodenkirk@gmail.com.
