Coquille River Trip 4/12/25

This month our field trip will be to some private land between Bandon and Coquille to view the return of our spring bird species. Eric Clough is leading an early spring birding field trip on April 12th on an important piece of mixed habitat property along the Coquille River that is the subject of an intertidal wetland restoration project through Coquille Watershed and other partners.  Property owner Lan Leslie with be with us to educate us on details of the restoration project and Cape Arago Audubon will be there to educate Lan about all the wonderful birds and habitat found at his property, which includes freshwater wetlands and upland coastal forest of different age regimes.  An important part of this trip will be birding by ear. With a little luck the weather will be good and early breeding birds will be singing praises of their bountiful territory and desires to raise a prolific brood.  Please carpool if possible and meet at 8:30am at the large gravel pullout along East Beaver Hill Road just west of the intersection with North Bank Road.  Contact Eric Clough (541-252-0989) for any questions about the trip.
