Litter Collection Report For 10/17/24

We had a small crew on October 17th picking up litter on our adopted highway mile; many of our regulars were out of town. It was a sunny day after an earlier downpour, and Barbara, Marie, Bruce, and Diane collected 10 large bags of garbage in 2 hours. We did not finish all areas because we had promised to meet two women working as contractors for the Port Of Coos Bay at Millicoma Marsh afterwards. They wanted our chapter members’ feedback on the Port’s latest proposal to develop an area on the North Spit for a container transfer facility, etc. Well, I can tell you Barbara was prepared with some excellent work done by Jan Hodder, and we gave them our thoughts! Those interested in the topic can see the Port of Coos Bay’s webpage and look at Pacific Coast Intermodal Port.
